Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Danishwar ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our exam-preparation service (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

Who we are

Danishwar is an independently operated online exam-preparation service based in Pakistan. For any privacy question, contact us at support@danishwar.pk.

Information we collect

• Account data — your email address and authentication details, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth).
• Study activity — the questions you attempt, your answers, scores, mock results, streaks, and progress. We use this to power adaptive practice, spaced review, and your readiness signals.
• Optional-subject selection and preferences you set during onboarding.
• Technical data — basic logs (IP address, device/browser, timestamps) kept for security and reliability.
• Payment data — when you subscribe, your payment is processed by our payment gateway. We receive confirmation of your subscription status; we do not store your full card or wallet credentials.

How we use your information

• To provide and personalise the Service (adaptive selection, mistakes, reviews).
• To measure your progress and readiness, and to send study reminders you opt into.
• To operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
• To process subscriptions and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your study data to train third-party AI models.

Friends and study circles

You can invite people to a study circle using a one-time code. There is no user search and no directory: nobody can find you unless you gave them a code, or used theirs.

People in your circle can see your display name, handle, and generated avatar. Study progress sharing is off by default. If you turn it on, friends can also see your settled Danish Gems earned today, settled Gems earned over the rolling last 7 days, and your current activity streak.

They cannot see your email address, your accuracy, your ability estimates, your readiness, your mock scores or grades, or which questions you answered. Your display name and handle are chosen by you and are visible to people you add — do not use them for information you would not want another student to see.

You can turn progress sharing off at any time, including after a trial or membership ends. Ranked standings are not available in this release; sharing a friend progress card does not consent to a leaderboard.

If you report another student, we store your account identifier, the account you reported, your reason, and a copy of their display name and handle at that moment, so that we can act on what you actually saw. Reporting also blocks that person for you immediately. See our Community Standards for what happens next.

Service providers

We share the minimum data necessary with providers who help us run the Service: Supabase (authentication and database), Fly.io and Vercel (hosting), our payment gateway (subscription billing), and an AI provider (to generate answer explanations from question text only — never your identity). Each processes data on our behalf under their own terms.

Data retention

We keep account and study data while needed to provide and secure the Service, and retain limited records where required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or transaction-integrity purposes. You may ask us to close your account or delete eligible data by emailing support@danishwar.pk. We will verify the request and explain any information that must be retained or cannot lawfully be erased. We do not promise a shorter fixed period than applicable law requires.

Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to ask about, access, correct, export, restrict, or delete personal data. Send a request to the contact above; we will verify your identity and respond as required by applicable law. You may opt out of non-essential notifications at any time.

Children

The Service is intended for candidates preparing for competitive examinations and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this Policy; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
